Current Mohair Price List Dated - 11/03/2005
About our mohair prices: The following price list chart is for general reference only. Our actual prices can vary considerably. Many doll hair enthusiasts email us and ask for prime doll hair, for example. Quite a few are Reborners who root their mohair in individual tiny bundles. They are the ones who often ask us for long mohair with a soft wave (open lock) to it, versus a crimpy wave (very curly lock).
Handspinners, on the other hand, often ask for a fleece with a lot of mohair character (tight lock) and extreme fineness. They prefer kid mohair over yearling or adult. Our doll hair enthusiasts often prefer fine yearling or adult mohair. This sample chart will open up images for you to see the various lock styles we have available.
We keep many angora goats and each has its own fleece characteristics. For example our goat B-1's clip, which is a dark toned natural blonde coloration. Her clip is long and wavy and looks identical to human light brown/blonde hair. Fortunately her offspring are carrying these traits also.
I am hoping this short write up explains a bit why we cannot give a regulated price for our mohair. We have SALE prices on occasion, especially when another clip is expected and we wish to clear out our current stock of mohair. Send us an email and we can answer any questions you might have. SAMPLE PACKETS: I like to start out with a sample packet of our mohair locks with all prospective customers. If you would like to see some samples of doll hair (or hand spinners' mohair, please specify which) - send $5 and a LARGE SELF ADDRESSED MANILA ENVELOPE.
