All of our shepherding efforts culminate in making mohair available to a wide range of artistic fiber crafters and those who appreciate the quality and beauty of natural fiber garments. If you find yourself with us for those reasons, welcome to our world.

On this page you will find links to some of our mohair throws hand crafted by Alexandra.  These throws are individually woven and custom dyed to each customer's specifications, from  kid or yearling mohair.  Because each throw is a unique work of  love, hand spun and hand woven painstakingly over a period of time, the measurements and weights will vary.  We can do and have done pure white throws of natural mohair and they are beautiful.  The type of weave also determines the density of each throw. For example, in a herringbone weave, the throw becomes a heavier "winter weight" blanket.  Slightly lighter weaves result in a lighter but still warm mohair throw.  We adjust  our prices accordingly. This all natural colored  throw illustrates the plain beauty and brilliance of mohair. This weave has less weight but is still quite warm. We have dyed and woven  fantastic throws in rainbow hues also. They are enjoyable to do. Look on the gallery page to see what we have available and can create for you.

We use the finest kid hair, both dyed and natural colored, for the throws.  Natural colored plaids are earthy looking but the luster of the mohair still comes through giving it a noticeable elegance. You choose the colors - we can weave you a throw that matches your room's color scheme.  Natural dyes? Favorite color? We also include rug weaving in our array of fine wovens. The pile on these rugs is plush, thick and rich. The warp is made of the finest Belgian linen for strength and durability. Our "rug page" illustrates the quality built into these rugs. 

Each year we create a series of scarves in a broad range of colors and styles. The luxury and warmth of kid mohair lends itself to skin contact. Unlike wool which itches, kid mohair is fit even for exposure to children. scarf page here

Homespun Yarns For The Weaver and Knitter

A typical knitting or weaving yarn spun to medium thickness (2 ply 4 oz. skein) would run approximately 30 yards per ounce.  Larger orders of ten skeins or more would be discounted 10%. We would be glad to send samples of our homespun to you if you send us a large self addressed stamped envelope with $3.00 enclosed.  A price list will also be sent along with the samples. Heirloom Hand Weavings

Please look at our mohair page  and Alexandra's Gallery for up close pictures of our weavings. We weave light weight and regular weight  100% mohair throws, shawls, scarves and pillow covers. Keep in mind that we will custom dye and design a throw to match a particular motif.

Shipping:  Costs are by weight. Items under three pounds are $5. Orders weighing three to ten pounds are $15.  $1 per pound after 10 pounds. International shipments will be adjusted according to location but average $2 per pound.

Fleeces: Kid-1st and 2nd clip, yearling,-1st and 2nd clip, and a full spectrum of adult grade clips are available for sale.
