Beaver Creek

What a spectacular day in the forest today!

I went to the furthest reaches of the crest between the Rogue Umpqua divide, just above the Beaver Creek Fourth Field. Surely the Almighty has wrought wondrous things in His creation. The magnificent old growth forest stood like a mighty sentinel protecting the young replacement forest and the vastly diverse undergrowth shrubbery and flora from the ravages of direct sunlight. To top off the grand display I saw a large buck in velvet standing astride like a king enshrined on his throne.

The early morning mists reflected the burdens in my heart. But a gentle touch they were after the many hot days we have had during the summer drought. So also I have come to appreciate it when my soul is touched with the gloom of this world. Oh, the great joy I have to be able to bring my burdens to God. Yeshua Mashiach commanded, and I have found it to be so, that we should cast our cares on He who cares for us. I know not yet what caused the day to commingle with beauty and sadness but I do know that it will come to light...as it always does.

But still, the still beauty of the day has prevailed in my soul. The foibles of earth pale in the hope of what the creations desires. I hear it in the heavy misty winds. I see it in the grandiose but fallen old growth nurse logs. A day. A day is coming. A day when the veil of dense pallor will be consumed in the roar of fire and renewal. All will see it and all will know that the new beginning has begun.

How can I behold such fantastically ancient trees, moss laden from the winter's rains, standing as a witness before those large tracts of land, now heavy laden with unnatural new growth after having been clear cut years ago? Will we consume all the earth? I use wood. I heat and build with it. But I carefully select the trees. I save the best for the stand and utilize the usable for their several functions. Mechanization has over empowered us. In the haughty dignity of our accomplishments we lay waste the earth.

But not forever. No one shall escape the curse unless they seek refuge in the Truth. The earth is not ours to destroy though we think it is.
