Weather Change

It's been a good few days but busy busy.

To start, I finally got the Isuzu "glued" back together. Massive welding job on a vehicle that is decidedly obsolete. Still, It's nice getting almost 40 mpg on the little dieing diesel.

I'm planning on taking my beloved to Crater Lake this weekend. What an incredible and awe inspiring site.

Today was spent taking many of the members of the Douglas County Watershed Council and other interested stakeholders on a grand tour of the Singing Falls Stream Restoration Project. We were at it for 4 hours and it seems to have been a great success. Thankfully there were pools of water teaming with juvenile salmonids. Last week the temperatures were screaming hot with the riparian zone near 105 degrees F (high temp) for three days. To tell the truth I was afraid that all the fish died and was afraid to look. Tah Dah! Yes we lost many of the fish due to the summer drought conditions but pools also survived with hundreds of salmonid fingerlings in them. A first in two decades. Thank you Lord! Especially, since it has radically cooled down today and drizzling outside right now! The summer drought is broken. Yeah!

Oh well, Back to the fish barrier survey tomorrow.
