Singing Falls Ox Yokes
Simply expanding the formula used in the previous yoke construction methods creates the large yoke. This one was used when the team was standing 6' 4" at their shoulders.
Once again the illustration of the staple inset and plate inset into the wood of the yoke for stability. Take note of the lock washers on the all-thread. Even with this stout 5/8ths all-thread staple you can see it has been twisted by means of a heavy loads. The hand crafted yoke ring is large enough to take a wagon pole.
I reinforced the large yoke by placing countersunk bolts with washers and lock washers in four strategic points on the yoke. 3/8ths inch bolts seemed to work fine.
